| me can definitely confirm that 1. Square 1. He has a hatch. I have downpipes and test pipes. 2. I have a hatch, he has downpipes and test pipes 3. I Take hatch to body shop and find out it needs 300 dollars in body work: I'm out 300 dollars, he still has downpipes and testpipes Solution 1: I give him 80 dollars for the hatch, he gives me my parts back. It'd be just like he sold the hatch to me (and 80 dollars would be too much for this hatch anyway) and no one gets 'screwed' He had a part and essentially sold it for what it was worth and i get my parts back Solution 2: I supply him with another hatch of better condition than the one he gave me and he gives me my parts back. That brings us back to square one? How is that unfair? Maybe in the sense that he has to give me back parts that are worth way more than the one he supplied me in the trade? His resistance to trading back only makes it more obvious that he knows he gave me a shit deal and took advantage of me. Solution 3: I pay gave away test pipes and downpipes for a hatch that i had to spend 300 dollars fixing. I guess to you this seems like the most fair? Yea i guess that's fair in the world of craigslist deals.
